SIA Door Supervisor Training Course
Under the Private Security Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must hold a recognised qualification before applying for the relevant sector licence.
The Level 2 Door Supervisor course is an accredited qualification that has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Door Supervisor in Licensed and other venues.
Individuals working in the private security industry must undergo a structured training programme, resulting in one of the recognised security qualifications.
Applicants who do not hold a qualification endorsed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) will have their licence application refused.
Qualifications are fully endorsed by the SIA and regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales, CCEA, and SQA Accreditation.
The course is assessed by (4) multiple-choice exams and a scenario-based practical assessment.

Upskilling Door Supervisor
Upskillings qualification that has been developed to meet the mandatory SIA top up training requirement for Door Supervisors who undertook their training prior to June 2010. The qualification meets the SIA’s mandatory top-up requirements and appropriately qualified learners who complete the qualification will be eligible to apply to renew their SIA Door Supervisors licence.
Topics Covered
These include identifying the difference between defensive physical skills and physical interventions,the importance of dynamic risk assessment in situations where physical internvantion skills are used,effective deterrents to terroristactivities and duty of care requirements when dealing with children and young people.Qualifications are fully endorsed by the SIA and regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales, CCEA and SQA Accreditation. The course is assessed by multiple choice exams and a scenario based practical assessment.
